PeaceTech has launched FQ – Farm Quotient, a new initiative designed to connect young minds, agriculture, sustainability, innovation and responsible nation-building.
The initiative was unveiled at a special event where PeaceTech announced its flagship challenge, "Design a Farm @ 2040." The challenge invites school and college students, corporate teams and institutions to step beyond conventional ideas of farming and imagine what agriculture could look like in the year 2040.
The central question is simple:
"If you had the opportunity to design a farm for 2040, what would you build?"
Participants will be encouraged to think about the complete ecosystem of a future farm — food production, water, soil, renewable energy, animals, biodiversity, technology, waste management, innovation and farmer livelihoods. Ideas may include smart farming, aquaponics, vertical farming, renewable energy, AI-enabled agriculture, circular farming and other solutions that could make agriculture more resilient and sustainable.
However, Design a Farm @ 2040 is not simply a model-making or drawing competition. It is intended as a learning and innovation experience where participants research real challenges, work together, develop ideas, build solutions and present their vision of the future.
For younger students, the challenge will nurture curiosity, imagination and environmental awareness. Older students and corporate participants can take the challenge further through research, technology, entrepreneurship and practical problem-solving.
From an Event to a Movement
PeaceTech aims to develop Design a Farm @ 2040 into a nationwide innovation challenge, working with schools, colleges, corporate communities, educational institutions, agricultural networks and reputed chapters and organisations across India.
The larger vision behind FQ is to create opportunities for people from different generations and professions to contribute their thinking to one of the most important questions facing the future:
"How do we produce enough food while protecting the resources and people that make food possible?"
Everyone Has a Role to Play
PeaceTech is also inviting the wider public to become part of the initiative.
People and organisations can contribute through mentorship, knowledge, partnerships, sponsorship, project support, farm experiences, technology, research or simply by helping take the challenge to more young minds.
The objective is to create a platform where today's ideas can become tomorrow's experiments — and where young people can begin seeing agriculture not merely as farming, but as a field of science, technology, enterprise, sustainability and national development.

The initiative is not meant to be limited to participants alone. PeaceTech invites educators, farmers, scientists, entrepreneurs, corporates, sustainability professionals, parents, innovators, organisations and citizens to become part of this movement.
You can contribute by mentoring a student, supporting a school, sharing knowledge, sponsoring a project, offering expertise, providing a farm or innovation space, partnering with the initiative, or simply helping spread the message.
Because building the India of 2040 is not the responsibility of one sector or one generation.
It is a collective responsibility.
