What should India's farm look like in 2040? PeaceTech invites students, young innovators, educators, farmers, professionals, entrepreneurs and citizens to imagine the future of farming and share their ideas through an inspiring essay.
This is more than an essay contest. It is an invitation to think, question, imagine and design a more sustainable future for agriculture.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
STEP 1 — REGISTER
Complete your online registration for the FQ @2040 — Design a Farm @2040 Essay Contest.
STEP 2 — THINK
Ask yourself: "If I were designing a farm for 2040, what would it look like?"
Think beyond today's farming systems. Imagine what agriculture could become with the right combination of innovation, technology, sustainability and human consciousness.
STEP 3 — WRITE
Write an original essay around the theme: "My Vision for Farming at 2040"
You may explore one or more areas such as:
- 🌱 Sustainable & regenerative farming
- 💧 Water-smart agriculture
- ☀️ Solar & renewable-energy farms
- 🤖 AI, robotics & automation
- 🚁 Drones & precision agriculture
- 🧠 Technology + human consciousness

You don't need to be an agricultural expert.
We are looking for ideas, imagination, questions and possibilities.
ESSAY GUIDELINES
Recommended length
- Students: 500–1,000 words
- Young innovators / adults: 800–1,500 words
Your essay should:
- Be original and written by the participant.
- Present your own ideas, imagination or perspective.
- Have a clear title.
- Be relevant to Farming at 2040 / Design a Farm @2040.
- Demonstrate creative thinking and understanding of the future.
- Connect technology with sustainability and human wellbeing wherever relevant.
- Consider the farmer, community and environment, not technology alone.
- Be respectful, factual and constructive.
You may include:
Drawings • diagrams • photographs • illustrations • concept sketches • infographics
if they help communicate your Farm @2040 vision.
💡 THINK DIFFERENTLY
Don't simply write: "In 2040, farms will have drones and robots."
Ask deeper questions:
- Will technology save water?
- Can a farm produce its own energy?
- Can AI help a small farmer make better decisions?
- Can we grow more food without damaging the soil?
- Can farms become circular ecosystems with almost zero waste?
- Can technology make farming more profitable and dignified?
- What should happen to the relationship between the farmer, technology and nature?
Most importantly:
Don't just describe the future. Design it.
